Whale Watching . . . I think I'll stick to Chuck-A-Rama

Well the Sith Lord Darth Spencer has recently called me out on my lack of blogging. I apologize profusely. There is no excuse, only an apology.

Okay now that we have that out of the way on to this week's blog: Whale Watching! I was invited by some friends to go and look for Whales last weekend. Needless to say I was pretty excited to go.

The excitement only grew as we pulled out of the harbor. The San Diego Skyline is awesome. Just as we pulled out there were literally 50 or so dolphins that began swimming with the ship. That was pretty cool. The coolness stopped there.

I don't know if I am just getting old or weak or what, but my stomach isn't up for this crap any more. I had never been sea sick before, but it hit me pretty fast. I should have taken the 'incident' of me throwing up at Lagoon this summer as a sign. (Yes I threw up in the bushes after riding the spider). The whale watching tour was a 3 hour tour (Go Gilligan). I got sick about a half hour into it, so I spent my 3 hours and $30 lying down on a bench. I got up to look at whales a couple of times and frankly Shamu is much more impressive, plus there is always the chance that Shamu will eat his trainer. This whale tour offered no such excitement.

The coolest thing that I saw was one of these fish at the very end of the tour:
It is a mola fish or a 'sun' fish. It basically sits on its side and eats things. It is a very lazy fish that lets birds fly down and clean it. My kind of fish. It can weigh as much as 600 pounds.

The dramamine that I took half way into the tour kicked in as we pulled into the harbor. We did go to lunch at a great place called Brazil by the Bay. I enjoyed my chicken Millanese and made the resolution that next time whale watching comes around I will put my $30 towards going to sea world and watching the caged animals do tricks for me instead.
